A Prophetic Kingdom Perspective and Mandate for the 21st Century
A new prophetic dimension of Holy Spirit activation is beginning to sprout across the earth at this time, bringing the prophetic movement out of its infancy and immaturity and migrating it into a more accurate and functional position. We honour the men and women that have gone before us and paid a heavy price to champion and establish this dimension in the earth and realise that as a result of their sacrifice we get to stand on their shoulders and look at further horizons in the spirit with regards to the purposes of God.
"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us"
Hebrews 12:1 NKJV
The restoration of the office of the prophet and the place of the prophetic in the church has been in acceleration since the 1950s throughout the earth morphing into prominence in the 1980s, with it we saw a return to a functional understanding of the gifts of the spirit as described in 1 Corinthians 12
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 1 Corinthians 12:7-10 NKJV
We have also begun to understand the Ephesians 4:11 ascension ministry of a new testament prophet.
11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers. Ephesians 4:11 NKJV
In the 1980s and 90s the prophets announced and grew alongside the restoration and functional activation of the ascension ministry dimension of the office of the Apostle which had been neglected and largely misunderstood by the body of Christ.
With the establishment of the apostles and apostolic anointing now activated in the church for close to two decades, the prophetic is experiencing a fresh season of maturing; Calling it out of the ankle deep activities and immature perspectives of the past decades and into a place of functional governance and building dimensions within the body of Christ. Many prophets are committed to championing this next season of the prophetic in the church, which some of us are calling the "New Prophetic Dimension".
It will see the retooling of the prophetic in the body of Christ from primarily a "blessing mentality" to a "building mentality". It will move from independent freelance function to covenanted strategic alignment, submitting to and functioning primarily within the sphere of trans local apostolic teams. It will be more committed and strategic in empowering and activating the body of Christ manifested as the "city church", than simply giving words of prophecy to individual believers. It will be concerned with empowering the believers to hear the voice of God for themselves rather than creating a culture of dependency on the prophet for this dimension. It will move beyond simply personal and congregational prophecy to the revealing of the strategic directives from the mind of God through the Church to the earth, nations and cities.
This dimension will mature to such a place that the immaturity and inaccuracy of some of the present day activations within the church under the banner of prophetic ministry will become so evident that many will begin to morph into greater alignment with Gods design revealed in the word or become irrelevant and unsustainable in the body of Christ.
It will seek to strategically partner with all of the fivefold ministries of Apostle, Teacher, Evangelist and Pastor in presenting a full spectrum of the ministry of Christos to the church so as to equip her to grow exponentially in the earth
I am encouraged and excited to see a number of Prophets in the earth presently being stirred and reconfigured by the word and Spirit of God towards this new prophetic dimension. I count myself to be one amongst an ever growing company of saints who have a continual growing desire to have an ear to hear what the Spirit "is" saying to His church in this hour!
