I hear many prophesying that we are on the cusp of revival, that your blessing and breakthrough is just around the corner.
The challenge I have with all of this is that we have made our blessing or our breakthrough our goal instead of understanding that our true goal is Him!
“that I may know Him "and" the power of His resurrection, "and" the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.”
Philippians 3:10-11 NKJV
Blessings and breakthroughs as well as persecutions and hardships are a part of the outflow of knowing Him and be confirmed to His likeness.
“So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.””
Mark 10:29-31 NKJV
It's not the day to be prophesying a revival of yesterday, but to be seeking the Lord afresh and aligning our internal heart dimensions to His word, calibrated by His spirit.
“Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me hear joy and gladness, That the bones You have broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins, And blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners shall be converted to You. Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, The God of my salvation, And my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, And my mouth shall show forth Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise. Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion; Build the walls of Jerusalem. Then You shall be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, With burnt offering and whole burnt offering; Then they shall offer bulls on Your altar.”
Psalms 51:6-19 NKJV
Without the internal turning towards the Lord in abandoning our false measures of spiritual success, (My next blessing, my financial /physical breakthrough, my miracle) we will not be a people readied to migrate into stronger or deeper positions in the kingdom and thus will remain stagnated and circling mountains and valleys!
It is a new season in the Lord, renewal, revival, reformation and revolution are available to the Body of Christ, however we must be careful to not get stuck in false finish lines or to make one dimension the whole story. All of the movements of the Holy Spirit must end up leading the people of God to a stronger more mature walk with the Father. (That I might know Him)
